Morning Smoothie
Serves: One smoothie
  • Frozen fruit of your choice. *I like to get a variety of fresh organic fruit like blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, bananas, oranges, grapefruit and apples. I'll mix it up week to week so I'm not having the same exact smoothie every day for months. I like to make having a healthy breakfast easy in the morning by cutting and freezing the fruit in individual bags. You can use fresh fruit as well but when I do I like to add some ice.
  • Coconut water (Make sure you get the unsweetened one)
  • Almond milk
  • Almond butter
  • Protein powder *I've tried several varieties but I like this one the best
  • Lots of greens *I like a variety of organic baby kale, spinach and chard
  1. *I never measure when I make my smoothies. Since everything going in the blender is healthy, I'm never worried about making too much.
  2. Put everything in your blender and mix until smooth
  3. *When I first started making smoothies I used a regular blender. It struggled to blend all the frozen fruit and greens. We got this Vitamix blender for a wedding gift and although it's pricey, it's totally worth it! It blends quickly and I don't end up with huge chunks of kale in my teeth.
