Maker: Jolie of Laguna Salt Company

LagunaSalt

I’m a big fan of salt. A big, big fan.  I’ve enjoyed it plain, and flavored, and I think that each of Laguna Salt Company’s mixes would be welcomed in my kitchen.  I love that their product is safe for my gluten free friends! And I love that their product is full of flavors that only enhance and not overwhelm the food its put on.  Meet Jolie of Laguna Salt Company, and check out their products.

How long have you been creating and is it your full-time job?

We started Laguna Salt about 2.5 years ago and I would say it’s my part time/full time job as I’m also busy taking care of two very active boys!

When you’re not making things, what do you do?

I love to workout at the gym, hike and go to the beach with my family.

Is creativity a luxury or a necessity for you?

Creativity is really neither a necessity nor luxury. It’s more a way of life and how we live. It’s something that just “is”. From addressing an envelope to getting dressed in the morning. Creativity is an opportunity to make the ordinary extraordinary!

What obstacles have you had to overcome to lead a creative life?

I’d say the biggest obstacle with creativity is knowing when to let things go.There are so many components to creating a brand, so many details, it can become overwhelming and come at a cost of time. Realizing that “your” 90% is sufficient for the general public is an important thing to remind yourself of because artist’s and creativity people are generally never done with anything.

Did someone in your family, a friend or teacher introduce you to your creative side or have they helped you along the way?

I’d say it’s something you’re born with but in my case, my husband certainly “awakened” my senses to it.
