I have been learning watercolor painting. I dabbled in it a long time ago but am having fun doing free online classes and learning more.
Knitting is my fave to do in front of the tv. But I’ve been taking more online classes during quarantine and I’m looking forward to starting up some new projects!
I’ve been enjoying getting back into cross stitching! The repetitive motion is perfect as stress relief!
My favorite hobby is making anything I can!!! Whether it’s candle making, coffee cup hangers, wine bottle and glass holders, my entire wedding walls with gold hearts… anything!!
I love pottery – slab handbuilding to be specific. I’ve been taking classes for almost 2 years at a studio near me and I’m really missing that creative outlet. I’ve considered a few new projects and watched DIY videos and viewed some online classes, but I haven’t actually started any projects yet. 😂
My favorite craft is water marbling on silk and other materials. When my dad moved into assisted living last year, I brought 19 boxes of family mementos home with me. My new #safeathome hobby is creating a shared digital archive of family photos, letters, and audio and video files. I have loved weekly gatherings with extended family via Zoom meetings, as we inbox and share memories together.
I love to sew, I’ve learned how to make different style of masks. I’ve been making them for friends, family and whoever needs them.
I’ve been drawing and doing a bit of watercolor. A local shop (Castle in the Air) has been hosting some lovely tutorials and it’s been ridiculously inspiring.
Made a throw quilt for a friend–such a cheery thing to make and hopefully a cheery gift for her to receive.
I’ve been making a lot of Perler Beads!
It’s been very relaxing for me 🙂
Thank you for the inspiration!
xo
Chloe
Hi! I’ve been making soap for a few years but during this time I’ve been trying some new designs and testing new ideas!
I’m a long time knitter, but during quarantine my daughter’s and I have been trying to drop spindle. Last night my Electric Feel 6 Nano arrived, ski the spinning will be faster soon!
Hi We have sewing and craft kits from yarn kits, painting, jewelry making and hand and machine sewing.
We have also been selling masks and have mask kits to sew at home as well as actual masks. We have sold 3000 so far of the masks and lkits.
Here is our website:
http://www.Hipstitchers.com
I love drawing and painting. I’ve been baking a lot during quarantine too.
what an amazing giveaway! drawing in my sketchbook has been my daily creative fix during quarantine. would love to try these kits!
I love all sorts of crafts, but I always come back to sewing.
I bought a kit to make dangle-y leather-esqu earrings. Since my face and earrings are visible on Zoom it is fun to make and try new designs.
My main passion is chain maille jewelry, toys and sculptures. My friend recently taught me how to make junk journals so I am playing with those. One of the things that gives me great joy is doing crafts with my adult daughter who has Autism.
I make jewelry mostly chain maille and wire wrap. I also like to color to keep calm.
I love making jewelry, mostly I play with polymer clay as I love the colors, patterns, and texture looks I can create with it. I’ve started sculpting a bit as well, that’s a skill I really want to develop. I want to make figures where I can design everything to really make it special. From sewn outfits to miniature jewelry to bring them to life!
I love making chain maille jewellery but my “studio” room has been taken over by my husband during the CoVid shutdown. So I’ve picked up my knitting needles again to make a shawl. And I have started taking online classes to learn how to draw the beautiful geometric designs found on buildings in Spain, the Middle East, and across northern Africa. I have not used a compass in decades, but it has been a fun and interesting experience. And I would love to learn to make my own bath/body products!
I am a craft jack of all trades, master of a few! Everything from making soap/candles to crochet (as long as its a rectangle!) to ALL media of jewelry making–simple beading to fairly complex chain maille. I also have a kiln for making glass jewelry that has been staring at me for two years. I’m scared to use it! I have a not great microwave kiln that I did manage to make a few wearable items with. I’m enamored with everything handmade, and recycling or upcycling items when I can.
My favorite craft is enameling. I love than you can get results so quickly but also that there is a bit of the unknown each time you fire a piece. I prefer transparent enamels which create pieces with lovely depth. Cloisonne is my favorite and I hope to be able to do it decently some day.
I have been mailling for many, many YEARS, but went through a period (of a couple of years) where I just didn’t make the time to do it. I’ve been getting back to it the past few months and have spent a good amount of time in quarantine researching a large scale project that I’m really excited about. That should help fill the quarantine time! Thanks for hosting this giveaway!
I have been a crafter since my grandmother taught me to crochet and embroider when I was 8. I am 63 now. I have, in turn, taught my children but the ones that are growing up to be my fellow crafters are my two grandchildren, ages 16 and 18. In fact my grandson, who is graduating high school this June, is going to college to become an Art Teacher!! My heart is full. Anyway, I am embarrassed to say I have not seen this website until my email from Rebeca Mojica of Blue Buddha. Must be living under one of the rocks I paint. Hmmm. Very happy to have discovered Dear Handmade Life and I plan on being a regular. Thank you.
Jewelry making and quilting/sewing are my passions, but I have been a maker of all kinds of crafts for many years. My d-i-l is also artistic so if I’m a winner I’ll share with her. During this Covid virus I have had to go for cancer treatment so recovery from cancer has been my main focus but I have made earrings for other ladies undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Making jewelry for others to feel good about themselves has actually helped me to feel useful during this strange time in my life.
I love beading. Bracelets, necklaces, etc. and I have already cut my bangs twice. LOL
I have too many hobbies to have a favorite. I love weaving, knitting, quilting, chainmaille, and on and on.
I love doing Chain Maille!! I have been doing it for approximately 10 years. I started out beading first and still do some.
I love to bead and crochet. Actually any craft could be a hobby of mine.
I started to crochet again in 2019 and I love it! I now make comfort blankets for the Linus Project.
