DIY Jewelry + Accessories Organizer
Iโve never been a big fan of jewelry. Bling, fancy crystals and precious stones just donโt do it for me. However occasionally at our Patchwork Shows or another design or craft shows I run across a jewelry maker that catches my eye. I never wear earrings, bracelets or rings so I gravitate towards necklaces. Over the years my necklace stash has grown and turned into a tangled mess that I keep in a vintage hobnail bowl on my dresser. These past few weeks Iโve been super inspired to clean out EVERY nook and cranny in our house and when I began untangling my necklaces I thought about one of my favorite organizational materialsโฆ PEGBOARD! I knew that if my necklaces werenโt all knotted in a mess in a bowl Iโd actually be able to see them and stop wearing the same three necklaces. This DIY project is so simple that I almost didnโt post until I realized that if Iโd seen something like this sooner I would have had a solution to my jewelry organization catastrophe long ago.

What to get:
-Pegboard
-Drill
-Pegboard hooks
-Screws
What to do:
1. Measure your closet door and cut the piece of pegboard so that it fits. Be sure to account for the door frame when you close the door.
2. Drill your pegboard to the inside of your closet door. My door has a deeper space in the center on the inside so there is space for the pegboard hooks to fit. If your door is flat youโll need to build a frame (a thin piece of wood about two inches by ยฝ inch) for the top and the bottom. Drill this frame into the pegboard then add a few hooks at the top and hang it from your door. If you have a door that goes in at the middle like mine you can drill your pegboard directly onto your door. I found that drilling it in on each side at the top and bottom was sufficient but if it doesnโt feel sturdy add some screws on each side in the middle.
3. Use the pegboard hooks to hook your jewelry on.
