June DIY and Business Book Club 2016
I’ve had this stamp pinned on my pinterest board for ages. Like, literally, years. It’s a very simple stamp, and every time I’m anywhere that sells stamps I look and see if I can find it. But it’s no-where to be found. It’s becoming very, very obvious that if I want this stamp, I am going to have to make it myself.
Now, to some, this might not seem scary. But for whatever reason, it’s just something that I don’t want to do. First I have to order the kit…then I have to draw the design…then I have to carve it out…yada yada (eye roll). A friend recommended this stamp carving kit, which looks amazing, and the design is simple enough, and I’m probably not going to cut off an entire finger if I carve it, so there really are no valid excuses why I haven’t done it yet.
One of our books for this month has lit the fire under my backside again to get it done, and so I’m officially adding this small, but fun and much desired project to my June to-do list. I hope that this month’s books inspire you to do something as well!

I’ve been inspired to try handettering! Being a lefty, I’m somewhat intimidated but it should be fun trying!
Handlettering is amazing! Maybe your lefty inclination will make it more unique then if you weren’t left handed!
I’ve been inspired lately to make more handmade cards. I used to make them more than stopped and am excited to get back into it and to send more snail mail.
Getting snail mail is the best!
I came across a fluorescent pink yarn at a yarn store that was super soft with wool blend and I was inspired to try a new crochet hat pattern with alternating cream color yarn to use up some scrap yarn. I wanted something unique.
That sounds like a perfect fit!
I’m inspired to make Prayer Shawls for our church with the many skeins of yarn I have left over from making hats.
Great!
I’ve always loved coloring. It truly soothes the soul. I’ve combined my love for coloring with my passion for paper crafts and created paper doll tags.
That sounds amazing!
I saw a project thru buzzfeed that was a cracked terra cotta pot made into a fairy garden by using the broken pieces for steps, adding glass beads, a few succulents and some fairy ornamentation. It is so cute! And something that I can make with my 3 year old daughter. Although I think I am probably more interested in it.
Sounds wonderful!
Hi, I’ve been inspired to start practicing lettering (caligraphy). I have seen so much on my Instagram and watching Amy Tangerine that I want to devote my summer to it!! However, I have to go back and re-learn cursive handwriting! Yes, I am old enough to remember, when it was taught in school! 😉
Amy is super inspiring! I loved learning from her at Craftaction last year!
I’ve been combining hand lettering, watercolor and antique costume jewelry into crosses. Pulls together a number of ideas found here. Thank you!
Awesome! So glad that you’re combining all that!
Dug a big white enamel basin out of the neighbor’s trash, it even has a rusted hole in the bottom. I’m going to make a fairy garden out of it….(I know..No Shame!)
Sounds like a great use of a tossed out basin!
I am inspired daily to create. There just aren’t enough hours in the day or energy in my body for me to do all the things I dream of. I have slowly been teaching myself handlettering and I want to make cards to mail out to friends. I recently started taking a watercolor painting class and I find it very challenging. I have worked with oils and acrylics but watercolors seem to have a life of their own. On a daily basis I have been making cake pops and cookies. I’m inspired by the cookie designs I see on Instagram that look like works of art. My sugar cookies taste great and they will only get better as my cookie art improves.
