Nestled in the heart of the charming Old Sacramento Waterfront historic district with 125+ shopping outlets and eateries, this show features over 30 vendors showcasing their unique creations, it’s a prime opportunity to support our local artisans.

The impact this would have on California small creative businesses is awesome.

Even if the sharks don’t come through, here are some ways ANYONE can support creatives at our upcoming @thepatchworkshow or anywhere!

1. Have a couple of bucks? Buy stickers! Or another small low-priced item. It may not be much to you to spend $5 or $10 but it adds up and means a lot to help a small business keep on keeping on.

2. Follow them & engage on social media
This is a quick and easy way to show creatives some love. Follow your favorite makers on social media and like and comment on their posts in a genuine way.

3. Join their email list
If you love what a maker does, subscribe to their email list. Most makers use their email lists to announce sales, shows and other exclusives that you may miss on social media.

4. Share about them
Most of the awesome stuff I know about is from word of mouth! Sharing about a maker on social media or IRL is a great way to not only help the maker find a new audience but also help your friend find an awesome creative business.

Read this for the stuff I WISH someone told me when I started selling at craft fairs. 🛍️🎨

📊 1. Success at a craft fair doesn’t guarantee success at that same show the next time.

Shows, seasons, attendance, etc., all vary due to a variety of uncontrollable reasons. I’ve done great at a show one season and not great another season. I collect data from multiple shows and look at the stats to decide what shows to apply for.

👟2. Comfort is just as important as style when it comes to what you wear. Sneakers are 🔥.

☔ 3. You will have really crappy sales days but that’s all they are ONE BAD DAY. It could be due to the weather, other events, or any number of other reasons. Keep going! One show (bad or good) does not define you or your business.

Put as much effort into your display as you do into making products. Creating a branded, immersive experience for customers makes you look like a pro, makes it easy for people to shop, and increases the perceived value of your work. 🌟

🛒💰4. Have enough product. You should have 4 to 10 times the amount of product you hope or expect to sell. You don’t want your booth to look empty after you sell a handful of things and you want to have enough product to actually meet your sales goals. 🛒💰
