It’s not just OK but par for the course to feel

It’s not just OK but par for the course to feel all of that stuff if you’re a creative (especially if you’re trying to make a living with your art).

It takes time, like WAY more time than you probably think it will to get where you dream of being. BUT, don’t give up! It took me a decade to have a sustainable business and after Covid, the backstep of everything I built was so bad I almost gave up.

But, I didn’t. I kept going and I keep going every day.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is sharing all the things I’ve learned about being a creative business owner so that you don’t have to spend as much time as I did struggling.

You won’t believe this but...

I’ve carried half a dozen magazines on weekend trips just so I knew I’d have all the collage materials I’d want for the precious dedicated sketchbook time I’d finally get when I was away from all my responsibilities at home.

choose something else to do for a living with a clear path, a 401k, and steady paycheck.

Those things are probably pretty great. I don’t know as I’ve never had them but what I’ve had is the true joy of paying my bills doing what I love for the last 20+ years. And for me, the ups and downs (and some of those downs were SO low, I almost threw in the towel MANY times) of being a creative business owner have been worth it.
