Hey guys – I listened to this episode yesterday and just wondered where would be a good place to start in looking for a contract employee? I know you both said you reached out to your network first, but I don’t really have one. I run my business from home and am a total introvert. I was previously in finance which doesn’t help with my creative network. I’m really wanting to hire a photographer and someone to help with social media but I honestly don’t even know where to look. Is there a website that you’d recommend to post a help wanted ad? Thanks for all the helpful information.
Hi Michelle! I’m not sure where you’re located but our photographer does freelance (she’s in Santa Cruz) https://www.lphastings.com/. Also, you may consider joining a private Facebook group for creative business owners and reaching out there. Meighan O’Toole has a great one that focuses on social media – https://www.facebook.com/groups/creativeonlinestrategy/, or there’s this one: https://www.facebook.com/groups/aeolidia/ or this one: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Creative.Biz.Ladies/ or this one: https://www.facebook.com/groups/raiseyourhandsayyes/ 🙂 🙂
Thanks Nicole! I’m in Chicago though a CA native (actually got engaged on the pier in Ventura next to the Craftcation hotel!). I will checkout the FB groups. I really hate logging on because I just get sucked in, but I’ll give these groups a shot. Thanks again. I love the podcasts!
HI Michelle! That’s SO cool that you got engaged on the pier in Ventura- it’s such an awesome town. 🙂 I know what you mean about getting sucked into FB. 🙂 Also, so happy you enjoy the podcast. 🙂 If you haven’t already – we’d be SO grateful if you rated it and left us a review on iTunes. There are easy instructions on how to leave a review here http://www.imore.com/how-rate-or-review-podcast-your-iphone-or-ipad (just in case you need them). 🙂 Best of luck finding help and I’ll keep you in mind if I run across anyone who seems like a good fit for you. 🙂
