Dear Handmade Life is hiring for our Southern California shows!
We’re currently looking for event staff for our Southern California Patchwork Show: Modern Makers Festivals in Long Beach and Santa Ana. Both positions are seasonal (two shows a year in June and November in each city). Ideally we’re looking for someone for both events, long-term with the possibility for extra administrative work during our busy seasons (spring and fall).

EVENT STAFF POSITION
PATCHWORK SHOW SANTA ANA – 3rd & Sycamore
Pre-show prep event staff – Saturday, May 23rd 9am-1pm approx
-Measuring, marking and chalking out vendor spaces outside at the venue
-Must be able to stand and bend outdoors with breaks
-Light lifting of unloading bins, a-frame signs etc from our van (no more than 20 lbs and using a cart)
Rate: $15/hr + team lunch after we’re done!
Day of event staff – Sunday, May 24th: 7:00am-7:00pm approx (sometimes it’s quicker!)
-Unload U-haul
-Set-up and break down our info booth (table, chairs, ez-up tent etc.)
-Check-in and direct vendors to their booth spaces and out of the event when it ends
-Place a-frame signs throughout event (using a cart)
-Light lifting of loading bins, a-frame signs etc into our van (no more than 20 lbs and using a cart)
-Emptying trash throughout day
-Most of the day is spent sitting at the info booth, greeting guests, answering questions etc.
-There is downtime between 12:00pm-3:30pm and we take scheduled breaks so you can browse the show, relax etc.
-Includes light breakfast from the coffee house and $15 lunch stipend
Rate for the day $200
If you work both days:
An additional $25 dinner stipend
