I love to close the Spring Patchwork Show season out at our Long Beach location–what better way to spend a day near the ocean!
Personally, it was also the culmination of a pretty intense four months. At the beginning of March, I had started the build-out of my newest brick and mortar venture Alta Baja Market, then headed to Craftcation Conference and then onto three Patchwork Show events, all the while launching and successfully completing our Alta Baja Market kickstarter, Dear Handmade Life podcast episodes, drives to New Mexico and Tijuana for Alta Baja product deliveries and a couple of “opening a business snafus” along the way…it has been intense! By the end of the day in beautiful Long Beach, I was exhausted as we guided vendors out of the site and then one of our managers noticed a car where a vendor driving out looked like she was crying…
My first instinct: run to her…what did we do wrong?!
We waved her down, knocked on her window, asked her if she was okay and what could we do to help.
She stopped and said she was just tired but filled with joy, this was her first craft show and she was so happy…she had tears of joy from her work and accomplishments during the day.
I was beyond tired myself (having been up since 5:00 am-like I had be doing for months) plus add on a 12-hour day (and about six more hours after) and yet I felt as if I had just been given a dose of the best coffee by her joy…I was rejuvenated, pumped and ready for MORE!
THANK YOU to everyone who made and makes Patchwork Show possible…every single one of you makes it happen and we are so blessed and thankful to be a part of this growing and thriving movement.
