Patchwork Show Oakland Spring 2019
I couldn’t have asked for a better show to celebrate our 8th anniversary of hosting our bi-annual modern makers festival Patchwork Show in Oakland at Jack London Square a few weeks ago. The weather was perhaps the best we’ve ever had at any show in any location ever! The sun was out but it never got too hot and magically every time I started to feel even slightly warm, a breeze would drift up from the ocean and cool me down.
This season, we’re welcoming more DIY crafting and experience booths and as I walked the show talking to vendors and taking photos, I was so happy to see guests getting crafty creating watercolor books with NgoIdeas and spiral bound notebooks with Glossary Syndicate, learning the art knotting with The Landlocked Sailor and making inspirational paper mini banners with Margaux Bijoux. Plus Made by Auddi was there doing live postcard doodles for kids. Our friends Tracy and Fernando of VAMP Music & Art set-up their vintage clothing pop-up shop and (along with some guest DJs) spun records all day. I even managed to squeeze in some shopping and picked up a few necklaces, a card and a new ceramic bowl.
Thanks to our vendors, partners, staff, guests and our venue Jack London Square for one of my favorite Patchwork Show Oakland events ever! And, special thanks to our show sponsor Yelp, a great local resource to find and support local businesses and makers.
See you at our last two shows of the spring season in Ventura and Long Beach. We’ll be back in Oakland on November 2, 2019 for our fall show.
