I’ve always loved watching my kids make things. My oldest daughter takes after my husband in her love of art. She’s been sketching, and drawing, and dreaming since she was very little. She asked me one day if she could do a project with me and we came up with this idea of creating a flower made of heart shapes glued on a canvas. It’s a fun, simple project that is extremely easy to do with kids! There are also many different ways to personalize it. And the Sizzix machine is amazing to use on this project, because it’s super safe to use, and kids can totally be hands on and help cut out the shapes. This is a great little gift for a mom, or a grandma, or just to put up on your own mantle!
What you need:
Sizzix machine with heart shaped die cut pad
Decorative paper of your choice (We loved the colors of this one.)
Glue (I’m big fan of this Scotch tape…easy for little fingers to work!)
1. Place the paper on the die cut pad and put the protective plastic sheet under the pad, and over the paper. I found that I could do three sheets that were folded in half, at a time, so that I would get the most hearts cut out in the shortest amount of time. * You’ve gotta be quick when you are working with kids.
7. Enjoy your artwork!
