Craftcation Workshop Enrollment Info

This page contains everything you need to know about Workshop Enrollment for Craftcation.

PLEASE READ THE INFO ON THIS PAGE THOROUGHLY BEFORE YOU REACH OUT WITH QUESTIONS.

NO SOCIAL DMs to any of our team members please!

It is very tough for us to keep up with important questions when they come from so many places. Email is always the best way to contact us. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if the answer to your question is not answered anywhere on this page.

REMEMBER TO BREATHE. There’s no panicking at Craftcation! Even if your most coveted workshops are sold out, you still have options. Use the online waiting list, sign up with the in-person waiting list in each classroom, or trade with another attendee.

IMPORTANT NOTES & PRO TIPS

HAVE YOUR EVENTBRITE LOGIN CREDENTIALS:

  • Be sure you know your email address and password for Eventbrite.com. If you don’t know that information, be sure to sign up for an account or reset your password BEFORE enrollment opens on February 17, 2024 at 10am PT.
  • Eventbrite is not the same website where you purchased your 2024 registration so don’t be alarmed when you do not see your conference registration there. If you would like to login to see that registration, you may do so by going to the RegFox Account Center – click on Claim My Account and then enter the email address you used to register.
  • The password for ALL event pages is cc24.

PLAN YOUR SCHEDULE:

LOCATE WORKSHOP ENROLLMENT LINKS:

  • Visit the Craftcation Schedule to find enrollment links to the workshops you prioritized in your worksheets above. (These will be added before February 17, 2024.)

SECOND PAYMENT METHOD:

  • Have an alternative payment method ready in case of issues with your primary card. (If you have never used a payment method on Eventbrite before, you won’t be able to add a card to your account until your first transaction. Have your card information ready to go so that you can enter it quickly and make sure you save it to your account so that it loads in for your next enrollments.)
THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE ENROLLMENT

YES! All registered attendees who wish to enroll in classes will need to be online at 10am PT on Saturday, February 17, 2024 to reserve their seats in their preferred workshops.

Workshops that require enrollment are hosted through Eventbrite and require a password to enroll. The password to access each event is cc24.

Hands-On Craft Workshops (including Dyeing and Sewing) & Business Think Tanks

These workshops are marked with an asterisk (*) at the beginning of their title on the conference schedule. Once the links to enroll are ready, we will also add “SIGN UP” under the workshop on the conference schedule.

Casual Craft WorkshopsBusiness Lectures and PanelsSpecial Events, and Wellness Activities

On the conference schedule, there WILL NOT be an asterisk (*) at the beginning of their workshop titles. This means that all registered attendees can simply walk-in and do NOT need to enroll in advance.

Some (but not all) workshops have a small supply fee due at the time of enrollment. Supply fees for each workshop can be found here on the list view of the conference schedule. *If a workshop says N/A, enrollment isn’t required. If a workshop has a price listed, even if it’s $0.00, enrollment is required, and you MUST sign up in advance to secure your spot.

Think of these like movie showtimes at a theater: the same movie plays all day long, and we simply choose the one that works best for our schedule. It’s the same concept here!  Workshops labeled as ‘Session 1 or Session 2’ in the title are workshops that we’re offering more than once throughout the conference. You only need to sign up for or attend one session.

Think of these like chapters in a book: workshops labeled as ‘Part 1’ or ‘Part 2’ in the title are sessions split into two parts for extra instruction time, providing a deeper dive into the subject matter.

This year, the only workshop with more than one part is Jumpsuit Joy. However, you do not need to register for both parts separately. You’ll be automatically enrolled in Part 2 of the same session as Part 1. For example, let’s say you joined Session 2, Part 1 of the Jumpsuit Joy workshop. You’ll automatically be enrolled for Session 2, Part 2 of the same workshop.

You will need to attend BOTH parts to complete the project and fully benefit from the workshop experience.

No, you can only enroll in one workshop per time slot. Please choose your workshops carefully to ensure you get the most out of your conference experience.

THINGS TO KNOW ON ENROLLMENT DAY

STEP ONE:  Log in to your Eventbrite account. If you do not have an Eventbrite account, you can set one up for free. You will NOT be logging in to the Dear Handmade Life website.

STEP TWO: In a separate tab or window, open the schedule page of our website.

STEP THREE: On the schedule, find the workshop you would like to register for and click SIGN UP under the Presenter Name. (SIGN UP buttons will be added to the schedule before February 17 – if you visit this page before then, do not be alarmed if they aren’t visible yet.)

STEP FOUR: After clicking SIGN UP, you will be directed to the Eventbrite link for that workshop. Each of these registration links are password protected!  The password for each workshop is cc24. Enter the password when instructed and then complete the check-out process. REPEAT THIS PROCESS FOR ALL WORKSHOPS.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Eventbrite is not the same website where you purchased your 2024 registration so don’t be alarmed when you do not see your conference registration there. If you would like to login to see that registration, you may do so by going to the RegFox Account Center – click on Claim My Account and then enter the email address you used to register.
  • You can only register one person at a time per workshop.
  • You do not need to print your tickets as there will be a check in sheet at the workshop.

No problem! Add your name to the waitlist. WRITE IT DOWN SOMEWHERE AS YOU JOIN THEM. You will NOT be able to see what waitlists you are on after the fact.

If a seat becomes available, you’ll receive an email notification and have 24 hours to claim it before it moves to the next person in line. Please be prompt as this process is automated, and we cannot extend the time frame. Once you receive the waiting list notification, you MUST CLAIM YOUR SPOT within 24 hours or it will be offered to the next name on the list.

In the event you would like to swap a workshop with another attendee, follow these instructions.

A printed version of the waitlist will be available in each classroom at the conference. You may manually add your name there.

AFTER ENROLLMENT

ARRIVE EARLY: It’s crucial to arrive early to your workshop to secure your seat and get settled in. Even though you have reserved your seat, be on time in order to claim it. If we reach the start time of the workshop and you haven’t arrived, your seat may be given to someone on the waitlist.

INFORM US OF ANY CHANGES: If you have a change of plans and no longer plan to attend the workshop, please let our team know in advance. To do so, you can cancel your registration online up to 7 days before your workshop date. Or, you can manually cross your name off of the class roster that will be hanging in the workshop’s classroom. This will help us know not to wait for you and that it’s ok to pass your seat on to a waitlisted attendee.

MIND YOUR INBOX: Keep an eye on your inbox for any emails from us about your workshop(s). Should your workshop require you to submit certain information or complete pre-workshop tasks before the session begins, this is how we will contact you.

ASK QUESTIONS: Don’t hesitate to ask questions if you’re unsure about something or need clarification on a topic. Workshops are interactive environments designated for learning, take advantage! Our presenters are wonderful teachers and experts in their field who are there to help you!

A printed version of the waitlist will be available in each classroom at the conference. If you joined the waitlist online, your name will already be there. Make plans to arrive at the workshop on time. After enrolled attendees are checked-in, should seats still be available, names will be called from the printed waitlist in the order they were added.

No worries! You can drop the workshop and receive a refund for the supply fee. You’re then free to join a different workshop for that time slot if you prefer. (Full instructions on how to do this will be added to the Attendee News Page.)

It’s crucial to arrive early to your workshop to secure your seat and get settled in. Even though you have reserved your seat, be on time in order to claim it. If we reach the start time of the workshop and you haven’t checked in, your seat may be given to someone on the waitlist.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you experience any technical issues while trying to enroll, please email Katie Mac for assistance. Our team will be monitoring the registration process, all emails and the private Facebook group for as long as it takes that morning to help you as much as we can. Keep in mind that we usually receive a high volume of emails in a short amount of time so please know that it may take a minute but we promise to get back to you as soon as we can. We’re here to help – please be kind.

Remember: No DMs or Facebook Messages to our team please. We won’t see them and your question will go unanswered.

We do EVERYTHING we can to accommodate each of you but we are not magicians. Classroom capacity is necessary in order to ensure we have enough supplies and support for every attendee.  The good news is – there are waiting lists for all workshops requiring pre-registration!! Hooray!! Our waiting lists work and we are generally able to accommodate most people on those lists due to cancellations, location changes that allow for a bigger class size, etc. Keep the faith and know that we are working like crazy behind the scenes to do everything we can.
